What exercises can I do with this kit?
What exercises can I do with this kit?
Essentially anything you'd do in a commercial gym. With the bar, resistance bands, handles, and ankle straps, you have everything needed to perform both compound and isolation movements across all muscle groups.
If you're a beginner, start with compound exercises like the bench press, deadlift, squat, and overhead press these work multiple muscle groups simultaneously and allow you to progress quickly.

Is progressive resistance an obstacle to muscle growth?
Is progressive resistance an obstacle to muscle growth?
In short, no - and it's actually one of the key advantages of training with bands.
Progressive resistance refers to resistance that increases as the band is stretched further throughout a movement. Unlike free weights, which deliver constant resistance regardless of joint angle. This is often seen as a limitation, but it's actually a benefit: it allows the resistance to match your natural strength curve. During a bicep curl, for example, you'll feel less resistance at the bottom of the movement - where you're weakest - and more at the top, where you're strongest. This lets you train with a heavier load while reducing stress on your joints.
The only potential downside is if the bands are too slack at the start of a movement, which means the muscle isn't under tension for the full range. To address this, our bands are specifically designed to deliver approximately 60% of their maximum resistance right from the start of each movement, and our tutorials walk you through how to position them correctly for every exercise.
Can I use the bar with other resistance bands?
Can I use the bar with other resistance bands?
In principle, yes - but we'd advise against it. Most resistance bands on the market come with small carabiners that simply aren't strong enough for safe use with our bar. The AEVO Strength System includes large, sturdy stainless steel carabiners that attach to the rigid eyelets on our bar - that combination is specifically designed to ensure maximum safety under heavy load.
To get the most out of our bar and achieve a genuinely challenging workout, you also need a relatively high resistance load - which the majority of third-party band packs won't provide.
If you do choose to use your own bands, make sure the carabiners are properly rated, fully closed, and secured before every exercise.
The eyelets on my bar are rotating, is that normal?
The eyelets on my bar are rotating, is that normal?
Yes, completely normal. They've been designed this way as a deliberate innovation. The rotating eyelets prevent carabiners from getting stuck during exercises, keeping every movement as smooth and natural as possible.
Is the resistance exactly the same as free weights?
Is the resistance exactly the same as free weights?
Not exactly - and that's worth understanding. Because latex isn't a perfectly uniform material, the resistance you feel will vary slightly depending on how the bands are set up. Factors like your height, foot spacing, and distance from the anchor point all influence how much the band is stretched, and therefore how much resistance you feel. For example, if you get the same band, with the same feet stance, the resistance during an overhead press will be higher than during a bicep curl.
As a general guide, the resistance labelled on each band is reached when it's stretched to approximately 4x its original length. For deadlifts and rows - where the band wraps around the bar - the perceived resistance is approximately 1.5x the labelled value.
We recommend watching our demonstration videos for each exercise to make sure you're getting the right stretch and setup.
I'm over 1.9m tall - will the bands work for me?
I'm over 1.9m tall - will the bands work for me?
Yes. Our resistance bands are 1.2m long and made from high-quality natural latex, allowing them to stretch up to 6–7x their original length. Though, we recommend a maximum stretch of 4x to avoid weakening the band - which is 4.8m or 2.4m when folded. That's more than enough for full range of motion on any exercise, regardless of your height.
For exercises using an external anchor (door or outdoor anchor), your height has no effect on the resistance whatsoever.
I'm under 1.6m - will the bands still be effective?
I'm under 1.6m - will the bands still be effective?
Yes, our equipment is designed to work effectively across a wide range of body sizes.
For exercises where your feet anchor the bands (such as bicep curls, squats, or lunges), the bands will be less stretched if you're shorter, but you can offset that by simply widening your stance slightly to increase the stretch and feel the right level of resistance from the start of the movement.
For exercises using an external anchor (door or outdoor anchor), your height has no effect on the resistance whatsoever.
Can I travel with the kit?
Can I travel with the kit?
Absolutely! The entire AEVO Strength System weighs around 2.5kg and packs easily into the AEVO Fit carry bag. The two-piece bar breaks down into two short sections, making it small enough to fit into a carry-on, alongside all the accessories and attachments.
Please note: some airlines may classify the weightlifting bar as a prohibited carry-on item. We recommend checking your airline's policy before you fly. If in doubt, pack the bar in your checked luggage.
Is my equipment under warranty?
Is my equipment under warranty?
Yes, all AEVO Fit items are guaranteed for life against any malfunctions, tears or breakages resulting from a manufacturing defect in the equipment.
If your product is defective, please contact us at info@aevofit.com and we will arrange for a replacement. Please note that we replace the equipment free of charge, but delivery charges may apply.
How do I care for my resistance bands?
How do I care for my resistance bands?
To get the longest lifespan out of your bands, it's important to store and maintain them properly.
Over time, natural latex can oxidise, causing white spots or discolouration when exposed to humidity, heat, cold, wind, or even ambient air. This is purely cosmetic and doesn't affect the performance or integrity of the bands, but to minimise the chance of this happening, we recommend storing them in your AEVO Fit carry bag after each use and keeping them indoors when not in use.
If this does occur, you can clean your bands and restore their colour using silicone oil.
